as much as i like to party
i fucking hate new years
also fucking hate birthdays
they remind me of how much time has flew by and all the things that changed
sometimes they change for the better
sometimes they change for the worse
sometimes growing older means actually seeing things change for the worse
our parents used to tell us, "i'll tell you when you're older"
because that's when we see the real world
when the disguise of paddle pops and playgrounds are torn
thinking that everyday is just waking up to play
if i had a crush on you, and i got rejected
i would go play with my friends and forget about it
because what is rejection at a age that doesn't know what love is
commitments
responsibilities
our priorities are shifted
to something more major
something that our youth has always been fighting for
this age is our peak
but this peak doesn't seem so great
we have climbed so high only to realise there's only downhill left
they say the journey is more memorable than the destination
i cannot agree more
which is better
realising you can see what your future roughly looks like
or not knowing what's ahead while you still figure your way up
i would choose the latter any day any month any season
everybody has regrets
on their death bed whether they like it or not
everybody makes mistakes
and everybody will die
to face an inevitable void
because whatever we worked so hard for
made us so tired
to the point where it scares us into making life worth living
only to bring us to close our eyes and rest forever
